Obituary for Roberto Campoli

ROBERTO CAMPOLI - AUGUST 13, 1950 TO AUGUST 21, 2020
Robert passed away peacefully on August 21, 2020. He enjoyed 70 wonderful and well lived years.
In his final moments he was surrounded by an enormous amount of love.
He will be forever missed by his loving wife Iolanda of 46 years. He will always be loved and cherished by his dear children Stephanie (Maurizio), David (Marisa) and his adoring grandchildren Sophia, Samantha, Michael and Matteo.
Robert will always be held in the hearts of his loving mother Maria (late father Orlando), his brothers Renato, Piero (Nadia), son-in-law to the late Vittorio and Raffaella Trulli, brother-in-law to Richard and Dante Trulli (Maria), and his adoring nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his relatives in Italy and Canada, along with his many good friends.
Robert was born on August 13, 1950 in Casamari, Frosinone, Italy. His family immigrated to Canada in 1966 but he always maintained a lifelong affection to his Italian heritage. Some of his greatest moments were shared spending quality time with his wife, children and wonderful grandchildren who meant the world to him. He loved to travel, enjoyed soccer (Lazio team), Formula One Races (Ferrari of course), fishing and many outdoor adventures with his friends. Robert worked tirelessly, with both skill and integrity over the years to build his business. Most importantly, he had a humble heart and fought until his final days. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten for he touched the hearts of many.

Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Monday August 24, 2020 from 2-5 & 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday August 25, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church (150 St. Francis Ave., north of Rutherford Rd.). Entombment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery (on Jane St., north of Steeles Ave.).

The Campoli family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Robert’s team of doctors and nurses at Sunnybrook Hospital - The Odette Cancer Care Centre and Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Memorial contributions are welcome at these centres.

A tribute written by Roberto's children Stephanie and David:

Dad was an incredible man and a wonderful person.

Known for his zest for life, boundless energy, strength of character and loving spirit. He is our hero in many ways. He was a true family man. Dad was always there for his family, no matter what. We always knew that if we needed anything, he was just a phone call away. He would do anything for his family, and we would do anything for him.

Dad’s life was full of good friends who he shared many great times with. He was loved and respected by so many people. He was a hard worker who loved to be outdoors, and always enjoyed his adventures in fishing, hunting and boating. He loved to tell us stories about these adventures and about all of the people he met along the way. He was a kind, caring, loving and generous person. Protective of his family and loyal to his friends.

He truly loved my mom, adored my brother and I, and his grandchildren were the light of his life. He was always there to give us advice, unconditional love, and teach us many things. Our home was filled with love, happiness and laughter and we created many wonderful memories together. Travelling, boating, fishing and backyard bbq’s to name a few.

Dad was a very kind and caring son, a good brother and uncle. He looked out for everyone and was there whenever you needed him. Dad battled his illness fiercely and with determination, always concerned about his family before himself. Our love for him is infinite, he will always be with us everyday in all that we do, and his memory will live with us forever.

Dad, we know you are in peace, smiling down on us, fishing and hunting somewhere, and we promise to keep your memory alive by making the most of life, and doing our best to follow in your footsteps. Dad, you live on in all of us. Thank you for being such a wonderful husband, dad, father-in-law, nonno, son, brother, uncle and friend.
We love you!
