Obituary for Iva Barcelos
Tragically on Saturday September 12th, Iva was taken from us at the age of 59. Now resting in Heaven with her cherished husband João. She was a loving mother to her children Paul and Helder in Portugal, Nelson (Juliana) and Marcia (Jason) of Toronto and Tiberio (deceased). She will always be remembered by her loving family, as well as many friends. Visitation will be held at the Vescio Funeral Home “Toronto Chapel” (2080 Dufferin Street, north of Rogers Road 416.656.3332) on Saturday September 26th and Sunday September 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private Funeral Mass and interment will be celebrated on Monday September 28th for immediate family members and invited guests only. We kindly ask that friends do not attend the church on Monday unless you are a member of the family or an invited guest, as there are seating restrictions and limitations due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. We greatly appreciate everyone’s understanding during this very most difficult time.

The government has implemented that all attendees at funerals must always wear a mask.
As some of the restrictions are being lifted the Bereavement Authority of Ontario has posted their guidelines of what we are able to do.

Public visitations can take place at our Toronto Chapel with a maximum of 40 people in attendance per visitation room.
Funerals may take place at the church which allows for up to 30 percent of the church capacity to be in attendance in the Toronto area. That number depends on the capacity of that specific parish. (once maximum capacity has been reached no exceptions will be made to allow for more friends to enter)
It is mandatory for family and friends attending the church and cemetery to wear masks.
Please bring your mask with you to the church, and cemetery. If you are not wearing a mask, you will not be permitted to attend the service at the church or cemetery.
We can have from up to 100 people if outdoors in attendance at the cemetery.
Each cemetery has their own policies, which may allow or limit these numbers.
We are encouraging all friends to come to the funeral home during the visitation periods if you are comfortable.
We are asking for only the most immediate family members to join us at the funeral home on the funeral day and at the cemetery only.
We encourage all family and friends to leave a message on the memory wall online.
We continue to pray for all families affected during this most difficult time.
