Obituary for Dora Salvatrice Caccavella

God called Dora peacefully on June 28, 2020 at the age of 92. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Michele. Cherished by her dear children, Angela (Carlo), and Nick (Ornella). Proud Nonna to Andrea (Michael), Giancarlo (Laura), Nicole (Joseph), Elissa (Jonathan) and Daniele. Adoring bisnonna to Mikaela, Marcus, Juliet, Matteo, Mia, Milania, Domenico, Massimo, and Simona. Dora will always be remembered by her loving sister Concettina (Giuseppe). She will be held dear in the hearts of her family, relatives, and many friends. Private Family Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday June 30, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church (150 St. Francis Ave, north of Rutherford Rd.). Private Entombment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery (on Jane St, north of Steeles). In Lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dora may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, the Canadian Cancer Society or The Canadian Liver Foundation. During these unprecedented times, The Caccavella and De Gasperis families would like to ensure that their relatives and friends understand that there is no expectation of attending the visitation at the funeral home as we are still experiencing difficult times with COVID-19 in our community. Both the Caccavella and De Gasperis families extend their deepest gratitude to all their family and friends for their love and support during this difficult time.

The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed; please connect 10 minutes before mass using the link provided by St. Clare of Assisi Church: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiZD1nl84PH1nI4rFkfGcwA

The government has implemented that all attendees at funerals must always wear a mask.

Masks are required at all churches and cemeteries. Those in attendance for services are required to bring their masks to the church and cemetery or you will not be permitted to attend the service.

As some of the restrictions are being lifted the Bereavement Authority of Ontario has posted their guidelines of what we are able to do. https://thebao.ca/bao_attendanceguidance_june15_2020/

We can have public visitations with a maximum of 50 people in attendance per visitation room

We can have funerals taking place at the church which allows for up to 100 to 150 people to be in attendance in the Vaughan area (once maximum capacity has been reached no exceptions will be made to allow for more friends to enter)

We can have from 10 people up to 50 people if outdoors in attendance at the cemetery.

We are encouraging all friends to come to the funeral home during the visitation periods if you are comfortable and meet us at the church for the funeral Mass.

We are asking for only the most immediate family members to join us at the funeral home on the funeral day and at the cemetery only.

We encourage all family and friends to leave a message on the memory wall online.
We continue to pray for all families affected during this most difficult time.
