Obituary for Donato Grossi

God called Donato peacefully on July 27, 2020 at the age of 83. He will be forever missed by his loving wife, Francesca. Cherished by his dear children, Rocco (Anna) and Benny (Dina). Proud Nonno to Donato (Maria), Jessica and Joseph. He will always be remembered by his sisters Addolorata and Anna. Donato is now reunited in Heaven with his siblings Assunta, Benedetto, Egidio, Mario, Nazzarena, and Anna Rosa. He will be held dear in the hearts of his family, relatives, and many friends. Visitations will take place at the Vescio Funeral Home Woodbridge Chapel (8101 Weston Rd. 905-850-3332) on Thursday July 30, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. and Friday July 31, 2020 from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday August 1, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Jane Frances Roman Catholic Church (2747 Jane St., north of Sheppard Ave.). Private Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. If so desired, donations in memory of Donato may be made to the Lung Association, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The government has implemented that all attendees at funerals must always wear a mask.

As some of the restrictions are being lifted the Bereavement Authority of Ontario has posted their guidelines of what we are able to do.https://thebao.ca/bao_attendanceguidance_june15_2020/

We can have public visitations with a maximum of 30 people in attendance per visitation room

We can have funerals taking place at the church which allows for up to 100 people to be in attendance in the Vaughan and Toronto area (once maximum capacity has been reached no exceptions will be made to allow for more friends to enter)

We can have from 10 people up to 50 people if outdoors in attendance at the cemetery.

We are encouraging all friends to come to the funeral home during the visitation periods if you are comfortable and meet us at the church for the funeral Mass.

We are asking for only the most immediate family members to join us at the funeral home on the funeral day and at the cemetery only.

We encourage all family and friends to leave a message on the memory wall online.
We continue to pray for all families affected during this most difficult time.
